Comets Sign Ehrhardt to AHL Deal

Utica Comets Director of Hockey Operations Pat Conacher announced that defenseman Travis Ehrhardt has signed an American Hockey League contract for the remainder of the 2015-16 season.

Ehrhardt, 26, started the season on a professional tryout contract and has recorded three points (2-1-3) and four penalty minutes in 12 games this season for the Comets. His two goals are tied for most amongst Comets defensemen. Last season, the Calgary, AB native appeared in 41 games for the Comets and registered 7 points (3-4-7) and 22 penalty minutes. He also added four assists and 10 penalty minutes in 14 games during the 2015 Calder Cup Playoffs.

Undrafted, Ehrhardt served as captain of the WHL's Portland Winterhawks, while Travis Green served as an Assistant Coach, during the 2008-09 season. Ehrhardt earned team MVP honors with 37 points (9-28-37), the fourth-highest total on the team.
