Admirals Can't Tame Bulldogs

Milwaukee, WI- For the second time this week, the Milwaukee Admirals fell behind by a pair of goals to the Hamilton Bulldogs, one of the AHL's top defensive teams, and eventually dropped a 3-2 decision for the 'Dogs on Sunday afternoon at the Bradley Center.

The Admirals surrendered a pair of power-play tallies to Hamilton again on Sunday, marking the third time in the last five games that Milwaukee has allowed more than one goal when down a man.

The Bulldogs notched the first tally of the game as Winger Max Pacioretty bested Milwaukee's Mark Dekanich behind the back at 1:05 of the first period to take Hamilton up 1-0.

After twenty minutes of play the Admirals were unable to capitalize on either of their power plays while the Bulldogs outshot the Admirals 11-6, controlling most of the offensive play.

The second period saw little action but at 11:57 Hamilton found the net once again as Brock Trotter beat Dekanich gloveside unassisted, boosting the Bulldogs' lead to 2-0.

Milwaukee finally got on the scoreboard as they converted the power play at 8:10 of the third period. Center Colin Wilson beat Hamilton's Curtis Sanford top shelf on a pass from Jon Blum to take the Admirals within one of the Bulldogs.

Hamilton quickly responded and at 14:38 of the third Brock Trotter again put one past Milwaukee's netminder, putting the Bulldogs up 3-1.

With only 2:27 left in the game, Milwaukee's Hugh Jessiman lit the lamp for his 13th goal of the season, beating Sanford stickside from the inside left circle to take the Admirals within one.

Despite a valiant last minute effort by the Admirals squad with their goaltender pulled, the Bulldogs were able to hold onto the lead and take home a 3-1 win in the season series against Milwaukee.

Wilson finished the game with a goal and an assist and now has points in five straight games and eight of his last nine.

The Admirals are back in action on Tuesday night when they host the Texas Stars at the Bradley Center at 7:00 pm.
