Adenhart To Make ML Debut Tonight

SALT LAKE CITY - The Angels announced today that the club has recalled right-handed pitcher Nick Adenhart from the Salt Lake Bees. To replace Adenhart on the Bees roster, Salt Lake has called up right-handed pitcher David Austen to Salt Lake from Arkansas.

Adenhart, 21, was 4-0 with a 0.87 ERA (31.0 IP, 18 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 0 HR, 15 BB, 19 SO) in five games with Salt Lake in 2008. Scheduled to make his major league debut with the Angels tonight, the Silver Springs, Md. native was originally selected by the Angels in the 14th round of the 2004 draft.

Austen, 26, was 0-1 with a 4.61 ERA in five games (13.2 IP, 16 H, 8 R, 7 ER, 3 HR, 2 BB, 9 SO) for the Travelers in 2008. Originally selected in the 15th round of the 2003 draft, the St. Petersburg, Fla. native is making his first triple-A appearance with the Bees.
