Arizona Sundogs News Release

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, announced Monday that rookie forward Adam Perry has been named the Oakley/CHL Player of the Week for the period ending February 1.

Perry, 22, tallied eight points (5g/3a) and was plus-4 in three games against the Rocky Mountain Rage last week.

The rookie out of Peterborough, Ontario garnered his first-ever professional hat trick with a four-point effort in a 4-2 win over the Rage on Wednesday, Jan. 28 and followed Wednesday night's contest with a three-point (2g/1a) outing in Friday's 6-3 loss to Rocky Mountain. Perry collected an assist in Arizona's 5-4 win on Saturday to close out the three-game set against Northern Conference club.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound forward ranks second in scoring among rookies in the CHL with 45 points, trailing Laredo's Darryl Smith by just three points (23g/25a) despite having played in seven fewer games. His 18 goals and 27 assists also rank second among rookies.

Perry has been held scoreless in just eight contests this season since being assigned to Arizona from the American Hockey League's San Antonio Rampage on November 18.

Arizona (19-22-3) sits just three points back of Rio Grande Valley for fourth place overall and holds a one-point cushion over Corpus Christi for the Southern Conference's fifth and final playoff spot. The Sundogs close out their season-long eight-game homestand with three-straight against the Amarillo Gorillas beginning Wednesday at 7:05pm. Tickets start at just $14 and are available by phone at 1-866-4-GET-TIX (1-866-443-8849), online at www.gettix.net and in person at the Tim's Toyota Center Box Office.
