Oakley CHL Player/Goaltender of the Week Winners Announced
February 2, 2009 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release
The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipients for the Oakley CHL Player and Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Feb 1st, 2009 are forward Adam Perry of the Arizona Sundogs and Ken Carroll of the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs.
Perry had points in each of the Sundogs three games last week helping the defending champs to a 2-1-0 record. The Peterborough, Ontario native finished the week with five goals and three assists while posting a +4 plus/minus rating. Perry's five goals came on a thrifty eight shots on goal. His best game of the week came during Wednesday's 4-1 victory over Rocky Mountain where he had a hand in each Sundog goal netting a hat trick with an assist. For the season, the Phoenix Coyotes assigned player has 45 points (18-27=45) in 31 games. The 5-11, 185-pound forward has played in eight American Hockey League games with San Antonio notching one assist.
Carroll has been one of the hottest goaltenders in the league over the past two months and is coming off a week that saw him win all three starts last week. The veteran netminder finished the week with maybe his best performance stopping 44 of 46 shots versus Rapid City. Earlier in the week, the Oil City, Ontario native made 39 saves in a 2-1 victory over Mississippi in what at the time was a battle for first place in the Northeast Division. On the season, Carroll has bounced back from an injury-plagued start boasting a 15-5-2 record with a 2.47 goals against average and a .926 save percentage.
In recognition of their achievement, both Perry and Carroll will receive a special gift from Oakley.
