
Adam Engel Completes Rehab Assignment

Chicago White Sox OF Adam Engel has completed his Major League Baseball Rehab Assignment with the Charlotte Knights and was activated by the Chicago White Sox today. Engel, 30, was placed on Chicago's 10-day Injured List with left shoulder inflammation on August 16, 2021 (retroactive August 13). This season with the White Sox, the Cincinnati, OH native is hitting .248 (26-for-105) with 19 runs scored, six doubles, seven home runs, 18 RBIs and seven stolen bases in 33 games.
With the Knights this season over the course of two separate rehab stints, Engel hit .222 (12-for-54) with seven runs scored, two doubles, two home runs, five RBIs and five stolen bases in 15 games with Charlotte. Last year, Engel hit .295 (26-for-88) with 11 runs scored, five doubles, one triple, three home runs, 12 RBIs and a stolen base in 36 games with the White Sox.
INF Romy González was optioned to the Charlotte Knights by the Chicago White Sox today. Gonzalez, 24, has appeared in nine games with the Knights this season and is hitting .344 (11-for-32) with six runs scored, four doubles, three home runs, 10 RBIs and one stolen base. In his Triple-A debut on August 21, he hit two home runs, including a walk-off, three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to lead the Knights to a 7-5 win over the Durham Bulls. He recorded seven hits over his first 10 career Triple-A at-bats with six going for extra bases (three doubles and three home runs).
With the White Sox this season, González is hitting .250 (8-for-32) with four runs scored, three doubles and two RBIs in 10 games. He had his contract selected by the White Sox on September 1.
