
ADA and Scout Troops to join Conquest at Friday's home game

Albany, N.Y., June 16, 2004 â The Albany Conquest will have two special groups in attendance at their home game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers on Friday (June 18) at 7:30 p.m. at the Pepsi Arena in Albany, N.Y. The American Diabetes Association and Scout Troops from all over the Capital Region will be a part of game ceremonies.
Two individuals who had participated in a raffle held at the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure held this past Sunday in Stillwater, N.Y., will have the opportunity to present the official game ball for Friday evening's contest as well as participate in the pre-game coin toss ceremony. In addition, anyone wearing a 2004 Tour de Cure t-shirt to the game will be entitled to a half price ticket.
The American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure is a fundraising event that raises money to help find a cure for diabetes and to support diabetes education, treatment and advocacy for children and adults.
Friday's game will also mark "Scout Night" with a pre-game salute to the scouts. Scouts will be recognized on the field prior to the game and will receive a special Conquest "Scout Night" badge. Scouts are entitled to the purchase of a $6 ticket when bought prior to Friday at noon through the Conquest group sales department, which can be contacted at (518) 487-2222 x 1.
The Albany Conquest will play at home Friday in a crucial arenafootball2 Northeast Division match-up against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at the Pepsi Arena. The game will feature a full post-game concert by legendary rock band, Blue Oyster Cult. The first 2,000 fans to enter the field following the game for a post-game autograph session will receive a free 2004 Albany Conquest Team Poster.
