Bellingham Slam News Release
Bellingham, Wash. - The American Basketball Association's Bellingham Slam announced that a special celebrity player will be playing against the team when the Hollywood Fame visit Bellingham for the Slam's first two home games next week. According to the Fame's general manager Mike Casey, actor Geoff Stults will suit up for Hollywood's team during their games Nov. 16 and 17 against the Slam at Whatcom Pavilion. Both games begin at 7 p.m.
Stults, 28, is most famous for his role as Ben Kinkirk on the hit television series 7th Heaven. Stults has also appeared in several motion pictures, including Wedding Crashers, In The Mix, and The Break-Up. Stults is no stranger to sports competition, either. He attended Whitter College on a football scholarship, and later played professional football in Europe as a wide receiver. Next week's games versus the Slam will mark the first professional basketball action for Stults, who also holds part ownership of the Fame.
The Hollywood Fame are owned by a group of athletes and Hollywood celebrities, including former NBA player and television personality John Salley and singer Nick Lachey. The team is coached by former NBA head coach Don Casey.
Fans are encouraged to get their tickets early for the first two Slam home games against Hollywood. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Slam at 734-SLAM or online at www.bellinghamslam.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
