Reno Aces News Release
Reno, Nev. - Reno took the final game of the four-game set against the Rainiers tonight by a score of 5-3. Neftali Feliz tossed a gem, allowing one run on four hits over six innings of work. Socrates Brito and Cody Decker led the power charge with back-to-back jacks in the sixth inning and Ildemaro Vargas had a career-best five hits. The win puts the Aces at .500 for the first time since April 12th (4-4) and seven games back of first place.
The Aces jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning. Back-to-back singles by Kristopher Negron and Vargas set the table for Juniel Querecuto. Querecuto hit a towering fly ball into center field to score Negron. Seth Mejias-Brean tied the game up at one in the next half inning with an RBI triple into center field to score Andrew Aplin. Three doubles in the fifth inning plated two for the home team and consecutive homers plated another two in the sixth. The Rainiers responded with two of their own in the eighth inning off Aces right-hander Joey Krehbiel, but Jimmie Sherfy slammed the door closed to pick up his 12th save of the season. The Biggest Little City will welcome the Las Vegas 51's tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. Southpaw Alex Young will make the start for Greg Gross' Aces looking to put Reno above the .500 mark for the first time since April 7th.

Notes & Information
Let's Go Streaking: Ildemaro Vargas returned to the Aces starting lineup following a few days off after being hit in the head in game one of the series. Vargas entered tonight with an 18-game hit streak (29-for-80, 12 R, 11 RBI, 5 2B). The switch-hitting infielder finished 5-for-5 and extended his streak on just the second pitch he saw tonight with a single into left field. He has the second-longest active streak in the Pacific Coast League behind Mauricio Dubon of Colorado Springs. His five hits set a career-high for the 27-year-old from Venezuela.
June 1, 2018: The power bill for the Reno Aces has skyrocketed since June 1st. Three Aces players have 10+ home runs since that date (Kevin Cron, 12 / Christian Walker, 10 / Socrates Brito, 15). Brito's 15 are tied for the most in professional baseball with Jesus Aguilar (MIL, 15), Alex Bregman (HOU, 15), Max Muncy (LAD, 15). All three of the players tied with Brito competed in the Major League Baseball Home Run Derby this year. After going back-to-back with Cody Decker tonight, Brito has now been a part of five duos this season to hit consecutive longballs.
