
Aces Top Rainiers Behind Nine-Run Second Inning in 13-7 Victory

Reno, Nev. - Rallied behind a nine-run second inning, the Reno Aces (19-19) took down the Tacoma Rainiers (20-18) in a 13-7 victory on Saturday at Greater Nevada Field. With the win, Reno clinched the series against Tacoma.
The Aces wasted no time getting to Tacoma's starter, Michael Mariot, quickly loading the bases in the second inning. The bottom of the order sparked the momentum as Jancarlos Cintron and Bryson Brigman both notched singles to drive in Reno's first three runs. From there, Reno took advantage and maintained their lead for the rest of the game.
The big inning was highlighted by a 3-run Kyle Garlick home run, his first since April 23 rd . The power hitter is now slashing .272/.356/.510 with nine home runs and 34 RBI this season.
Kolten Wong drove in four runs and reached base five times in the win, going 3-for-3 with two doubles, two walks, and four RBI. The 33-year-old has gone 5-for-12 (.416) since returning from the injured list on May 9 th .
Humberto Castellanos tallied his third win of the year, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks through 5.0 innings, he punched out one. The right-hander is now 3-1 and owns a 5.74 ERA with a 25:12 K:BB in 2024.
The Aces will look to finish the series on a high note in Sunday's matchup against the Tacoma Rainiers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, with the first pitch scheduled for 1:05 p.m. PT.
