Reno Aces News Release

RENO, Nev.- Back-to-back home runs in the second by Yunesky Sanchez and Carlos Corporan put the Aces ahead for good Friday night, as Reno snapped a nine-game losing streak and knocked off Tacoma 7-3 in front of 7,056 fans at Aces Ballpark.

Aces starter Kevin Mulvey allowed two runs in the first, but kept the Rainiers off the board until the eighth, as Reno rallied for five runs over the first three frames to take a lead it would not relinquish. Trailing 2-1 in the second, Sanchez and Corporan belted back-to-back homers to put the Aces on top 4-2. Reno added one in the third before tacking on two insurance runs in the seventh to cement the victory.

Mulvey (4-6) was masterful after the first, surrendering just two hits and one run after getting through the first frame. Mulvey struck out five and walked one over seven plus innings of work, before Zach Kroenke tossed the final two innings.

Ryan Feierabend (2-3) took the loss for the Rainiers, allowing five earned runs over six innings of work.

Sanchez and Corporan combined for three hits and three RBIs, while Pedro Ciriaco and Chris Rahl chipped in two hits apiece from the top two slots in the order.

The Aces and Rainiers hit the third leg of this four-game set on Saturday night at Aces Ballpark. RHP Matt Torra (5-6, 4.32 ERA) gets the nod for Reno, while Tacoma is set to counter with LHP Luke French (10-2, 2.69 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. PT.

Saturday's game marks the return of Mystery Balls to Aces Ballpark. For a $20 charitable donation, fans can purchase a baseball that has been autographed by a member of the Aces or the Arizona Diamondbacks. Supplies are limited, and the mystery balls are expected to go very quickly.

Tickets for all Aces games start at just $7, and are available by calling the Reno Aces box office at (775) 334-7000 or by visiting RenoAces.com. The brand-new Freight House District, located just outside Aces Ballpark, is open seven days a week, on both game days and non-game days.
