Reno Aces News Release
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah-Three-run home runs in the fifth inning by Taylor Harbin and Randy Ruiz helped Reno erase an early deficit and cruise to a come-from-behind, 12-7 win over the Salt Lake Bees Friday night at Spring Mobile Ballpark.
Reno fell behind early, as the Bees scored two in the third and four more in the fourth to take a comfortable 6-0 lead. But the Aces would fire back in a big way. A pair of three-run homers in the fifth tied the score, and then Reno took its first lead of the game with a four-run sixth. After that, the Aces wouldn't trail again and picked-up their second-straight win.
Ruiz stretched his hitting streak to 10 games with two hits and four RBIs. Harbin, Adam Eaton and Ryan Wheeler all registered three hits in a 15-hit Aces effort.
The win went to Aces reliever Mike DeMark (1-2), who allowed a run on two hits in 1.2 innings of work. DeMark was the second of five Reno relievers that combined to hold the Bees to two runs over the game's final 5.2 innings after the exit of starter Chris Jakubauskas.
The loss fell to Salt Lake reliever Francisco Rodriguez (0-2), who surrendered all four Aces runs in the sixth.
Reno goes for the series victory on Saturday night. RHP Charles Brewer (0-1, 9.00 ERA) toes the slab for the Aces, while LHP Brad Mills (2-0, 1.42 ERA) counters for the Bees. First pitch is set for 5:35 p.m. PT, and the action can be heard live on Fox Sports 630 AM.
The Aces return to Reno for an eight-game homestand beginning April 30. Tickets are on-sale now at RenoAces.com, by calling (775) 334-7000 or by visiting the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office.
