The Pioneers won their seventh straight behind starter, Chris Zallie. Steve Checksfield's two-run homer in the third put the Pioneers up 2-1. RBI singles in the fifth by Elmira's, Shinya Watari and Jobu Morita put the Pioneers in the lead for good. Elmira first baseman, Rick Elder, led the
Pioneers in batting going 2-for-3, with 1 RBI and scoring 2 runs. The Aces were led by DH Chad Gambill, who went 2-for-4 and leftfielder, Al Corbeil, who went 3-for-5 with an RBI.
