Alexandria, La. - August 12, 2008 - The Alexandria Aces and Amarillo Dillas sat through a rain delay for one hour and 29 minutes before the Aces won 8-5 Tuesday at Bringhurst Field. The Aces scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning. Bryan Sabatella, for the second time this year, led off the game with a home run. The home run was Sabatella's 14th of the year and gave the Aces a 1-0 lead. The Aces weren't done in the first as Brian Nichols hit his fourth home run as an Ace. The two-run shot to left-center was the designated hitter's 13th of the season. The Aces scored three runs again in the bottom of the third. After Luis Guance led-off the inning with a walk, Selwyn Langaigne singled to left putting runners on first and second. Two batters later, Rafael Ozuna singled to right to bring home Guance. Andre Marshall followed with a double past a diving Jonathan Reynoso in center field to score Langaigne and Ozuna. Marshall's 11th double of the season put the Aces ahead 6-0. Aces starter Wayne Hedden was having his second consecutive good start before the rain hit. Hedden had struck out three through his three innings of work without allowing a run. The Aces and Dillas will continue their series Wednesday as Chad Linder goes for the Aces against Jesse Rodriguez. Game time is 7:05.
