Las Vegas Aces News Release
LAS VEGAS - The Las Vegas Aces embark on a two-game, east coast road swing this week beginning with a Thursday, June 6 tilt against the Atlanta Dream (Watch Coach Johnson's Scouting Report).
Las Vegas is coming off an 80-74 home loss to the Connecticut Sun on Sunday. For the second game in a row, the Aces relied on their bench to keep them in the game as the reserves scored 40 points vs. the Sun after netting 38 in the team's loss to Phoenix. The Connecticut loss also marked the second straight game that Las Vegas gave up a double-digit lead.
2018 WNBA Rookie of the Year A'ja Wilson leads the Aces in scoring (17.0 ppg) and rebounding (9.7), while recently-acquired All-Star center Liz Cambage has scored 27 points in 28 minutes of action in her two first appearances in an Aces uniform.
Two-time All-Star Kayla McBride is averaging 16.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, and Dearica Hamby is averaging 10.7 points and 8.3 rebounds off the bench.
Atlanta opened the 2019 season with a 76-72 victory over the Dallas Wings, before dropping back-to-back decisions to Seattle and Washington. The Dream are without the services of five-time All-Star Angel McCoughtry as she recovers from knee surgery.
Atlanta is averaging 72.3 points per game, which is the second lowest scoring average in the league. Brittney Sykes is the team's lone player scoring in double figures this year at just 10.3 points per game, however the Dream have eight other players averaging between 5.7 and 9.7 points per game.
The Aces lost all three games to Atlanta last season, and have also dropped three straight on the road to the Dream.
