The PLL Debuts
The Premier Lacrosse League debuted this week with their first weekend of games, including one broadcast on NBC Sports Network. The broadcast didn't rate in the Top 150 cable shows in the demo, which would have been a 0.05 rating on Sunday.
This wasn't the first telecast on NBCSN for the PLL. SportsVideo.org reported that 210,000 viewers watched the PLL College Draft on NBCSN. That telecast didn't register in the Top 150 shows by the demo rating either, though, which would suggest that it got less than a 0.04 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic. Either that or NBCSN's overall numbers aren't as accurate as they would say, considering one would think that a lacrosse draft would attract overall younger eyes than some other sports programming.

PLL on NBCSN, 1:30pm | Not in Top 150 Shows |
The first WNBA broadcast on ESPN2 this season (last weeks debut was on ABC) was markedly down in total viewers and the 18-49 demo from last year's equivalent game on ESPN2, although being on at 10pm due to it being a west coast game probably contributed to much of that decline vs. last year's game at 8pm Eastern.
MLS had a game on Univision Deportes reach into the Top 150 shows this weekend, which usually doesn't happen with those broadcasts, but Saturday was a pretty slow day on cable.
