Reno Aces News Release
RENO, NEV. - The Reno Aces defeated the Fresno Grizzlies in walk-off fashion Sunday afternoon by a score of 11-10. Eric Jokisch got the start for Reno in game four of the five-game set. The left-hander allowed nine runs on ten hits, three by way of home run. Relief pitchers Kaleb Fleck, Matt Stites and Silvino Bracho, would finish out the game for the home side, allowing one run over five innings of work.
Down by a score of 10-8 in the bottom of the eighth inning, outfielder Oswaldo Arcia stepped to the plate with Ildemaro Vargas and Christian Walker on the corners. The 25-year-old slugger blasted an Aaron West fastball of the right field wall for a two-RBI triple. Arcia is batting .356 in 20 games played and has 13 extra-base hits. Oswaldo Arcia trails teammate Christian Walker (27) and El Paso's Jamie Romak (25) in the Pacific Coast League RBI race.
Fresh off of a stint with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Silvino Bracho entered the game with a tied score in the top of the ninth inning. Fresno's Juan Centeno led off the inning with a double to left field to put the leading run on second base with no outs. Jack Mayfield, Jon Kemmer, and Tyler White would follow with back-to-back-to-back strikeouts swinging.
Outfielder Reymond Fuentes started the offense in the bottom of the ninth inning with a four-pitch walk. Kristopher Negron advanced the speedy Fuentes with a beautifully placed sacrifice bunt. Zach Borenstein was then intentionally walked to put a force at all three bases. Catcher Willians Astudillo reached base on a fielding error by Fresno third baseman Tyler White to load the bases for Vargas. With the bases loaded and a 2-1 count, Ildemaro Vargas sent a line drive to center field to score Fuentes and begin the victory celebration.
The victory puts the Aces at a record of 14-10 heading into the final game of the five-game series against Fresno. Reno will continue through their nine-game homestand at Greater Nevada Field tomorrow 6:35 p.m. Season memberships are on-sale now at www.renoaces.com or by calling (775) 334-4700.
