
Aces Assigned Lw Evan Trupp, D John Ramage from Abbotsford

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League, announced today that left winger Evan Trupp and rookie defenseman John Ramage have been assigned to the Aces from the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League.
Abbotsford is the AHL affiliate of Alaska and Calgary.
Trupp, 26, returns to the Aces with 35 points (11g-24a) in 41 games, additionally ranking second on the Aces with five power play goals. He was signed to a full contract with Abbotsford on Feb. 6 and has suited up in 17 games with Abbotsford this season, earning seven points (1g-6a) and ten penalty minutes.
The native of Anchorage has earned 104 points (30g-74a) and 100 penalty minutes in 156 career ECHL games with Alaska, Bakersfield and Cincinnati.
Ramage, 23, has earned an assist and +2 rating in 50 AHL games with Abbotsford as a rookie this season, also carrying 13 career games of experience (three assists and +7) with the United States in the World Junior Championships.
He helped Team USA capture the Gold Medal in 2009-10 and was captain the following season when they earned the Bronze Medal.
The 6-foot, 201 pound blueliner skated in 157 career college games with the University of Wisconsin, earning 53 points, 237 penalty minutes and a +28 rating. He was captain of the Badgers for his final two seasons and helped guide the program to a WCHA title as a 2012-13 senior when he collected a career high 20 points and +15 rating in 42 games.
Ramage was selected by Calgary in the fourth round (103rd overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
John's father, Rob, skated for 15 seasons as a defenseman in the NHL for St. Louis, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia and the Colorado Rockies, and was a part of Montreal's Stanley Cup championship squad in 1992-93. He was a four-time NHL All-Star selection, served as captain of Toronto and Colorado, and was selected first overall by Colorado in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft.
Trupp and Ramage are expected to join the Aces for the start of their ten-game road trip, tomorrow at 6:05 p.m. (KFQD) against the Las Vegas Wranglers.
