
Stingrays Add Defenseman Brendan Ellis

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays have agreed to terms with defenseman Brendan Ellis, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today.
Ellis, 25, completed a four-year collegiate career this season with Merrimack College totaling 58 points (seven goals, 51 assists) in 133 games and served as an alternate captain during the 2012-13 campaign. Before joining the NCAA ranks, the Kelowna, British Columbia, native skated four seasons of Junior hockey with the Westside Warriors of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) adding 126 points (34 goals, 92 assists) in 199 games, was named the BCHL's Best Defenseman following the 2009-10 season and departed as the team's all-time leading scorer among defensemen in goals, assists and points. Ellis will wear No. 44 with the Stingrays.
The Stingrays return to the North Charleston Coliseum on Friday, March 21 for Family Four Pack Friday! The Stingrays celebrate Military Appreciation Night with Lowcountry Harley-Davidson on Saturday, March 22 against the Orlando Solar Bears at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum. The players will wear special camouflage jerseys during the contest and auction them after the game with proceeds benefiting The Harbour House of Charleston.
