After scoring two runs in the top of the 9th to break a 4-4 tie, Aberdeen allowed three in the last of the 9th Thursday night to lose a disputed game, 7-6, to the Auburn Doubledays. Aberdeen falls to 0-2 on this road trip and 18-31 on the season.

In the top of the 9th, Bobby Andrews and Ryan Steinbach singled with one out. Later in the frame, Rob Marconi was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to take a 5-4 lead. Then, Zach Davis' infield single scored Steinbach for a 6-4 lead.

In the bottom of the inning, Blake Owen came on for the save. But with one out and a man on third, Ryan Patterson reached on catchers interference. Aberdeen argued that after the ruling, a runner was caught off third and tagged out but the umpires did not agree and runners were on the corners with one out.

After the arguing, and a very long delay, Joey Metropoulos came up and ripped a 2-run double to tie the game, 6-6. With runners on first and third and two down, Brian Bormaster lifted a high fly to short left field. The ball looked catchable but no IronBird made the play and the ball fell in for a game-winning single.

During the contest Aberdeen had leads of 2-1, 4-3 and 6-4, but lost each one to drop to 6-8 in one-run games.

Marconi and Davis had two RBI's each and Steinbach added two hits.
