Aberdeen IronBirds News Release

The Aberdeen IronBirds, Class A short-season affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, will open the 2016 season at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium honoring those who serve.

Opening Night on Wednesday, June 22 will pay tribute to Harford County Sheriff's Office fallen deputies Senior Deputy Patrick Dailey and Deputy First Class Mark Logsdon who were killed in line of duty on February 10, 2016. Pre-game ceremonies will include a moment of silence and ceremonial first pitches thrown out by the family members of the fallen deputies. The IronBirds will also unveil two reserved seats that will be illuminated and sit empty throughout the season, in memoriam of Senior Deputy Dailey and Deputy First Class Logsdon.

As a season-long dedication to all law enforcement, the IronBirds will don home and away jerseys embroidered with a specialized patch, featuring a grey American flag with a blue stripe through the middle. Additionally, the badge numbers of the two fallen deputies will be painted on the field at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium and prominently displayed throughout the entire season.

On June 23 for Military Appreciation Night presented by Leidos, the IronBirds will debut its military-inspired camouflage jerseys, which will be worn by the team on all "Military Saturday" home games. Additionally, the first 1,200 fans through the gates on June 23 will receive an IronBirds camouflage T-Shirt courtesy of Leidos.

The IronBirds will host the Auburn Doubledays June 22-24, followed by a three-game series against the Connecticut Tigers. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.IronBirdsBaseball.com or call the IronBirds Box Office at 410-297-9292.
