SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

Overall thought on the game:

"Tough game. Lot of chances out there so surprised it was 0-0. The goalies made some good saves. It is a valuable point. We came out with some good energy and we had chances in both halves to score, so good to come out with a point."

On second half changes:

"You have to come out and put pressure on them as far as possible from your goal. In the first half, we had some trouble connecting passes and getting some possession, but our defensive intensity was pretty good. We got better in the second half. Our starting positions were better and that allowed Cordell (Cato) and Jahmir (Hyka) to get on the ball more and create some more chances."

Looking ahead to Saturday:

"It is a tough road trip. Tonight it was cold, rainy and on turf and Saturday it will be much warmer and on grass, so you have to be ready for anything. We will gather ourselves tonight and come back ready on Saturday."

SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES FORWARD DANNY HOESEN

On his first career MLS start:

"I was happy to get a start. I have been working hard to get onto the field. Marco (Ureña) and Wondo (Chris Wondolowski) have been playing well, but I was happy to get in tonight. The more I play the better rhythm I will have and hopefully I can contribute more. I felt I was unlucky tonight with the shot off the post, but I am looking forward to the next game."

On team's attacking play:

"We have more that we can show I think. We did some good things tonight, but we did some other stuff that was not so good. We have a lot of talented players on this team and we have quality. There is some room for improvement though. We hope to get better and better each week."

On result:

"It wasn't our best game tonight. We had a number of good chances, me on at the post, Wondo with a good chance and Fatai (Alashe) had a chance, but the ‘keeper made a good save on him. We could have won and we could have lost so a tie is a fair result in the end."
