Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
On the heels of a 3-5 road trip and after a long night on the road, the PawSox notched a 5-3 win over Buffalo at McCoy on a chilly Friday night. Starter Michael Bowden gave up single runs in the first and third. Michael worked 4 innings and didn't figure in the decision. Trailing 2-0, the PawSox got on the board in the third as Jorge Jimenez hammered a two run homer deep into the night. In the fourth, Daniel Nava smashed a two run triple and Bubba Bell added a run with a sacrifice fly. The Bisons tacked on a run in the ninth, before Fernando Cabrera nailed down his third save. Robert Manuel (2-0) earned the win with 2 shutout innings of relief. Alan Embree and Joe Nelson each threw a scoreless inning of relief before Cabrera pitched the ninth.
The PawSox (7-8) meet the Bisons again on Saturday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. R.A. Dickey (1-1, 3.32) faces Randor Bierd (2-0, 4.50).
