A St. Paddy's Day Win for Wildcats
March 17, 2023 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
Moncton Wildcats News Release
It took the Wildcats extra time and then some to grab their 8th victory in their last 9 games. The Cats needed a shootout to secure 2 points at home on St. Patrick's Day, downing the Charlottetown Islanders 2-1 in front of 5,250 green-clad fans.
First Star Jacob Steinman was stellar once again, stopping 32 shots, plus 4 shootout breakaways. Captain Alexis Daniel was dangerous all night with 5 shots and fired the only Cats goal in regulation - a one-timer off a perfect 70 ¬Â² cross-ice feed from Thomas Auger, who just returned from the injured list. Third Star Cole Bishop scored the only shootout goal and the celebration was on.
