The Wildcats tied a franchise record with their 14th win in a row after an 8-1 victory over the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, Friday at Centre Henry-Leonard.
The Drakkar opened the scoring just 15 seconds into the game, but it was all Wildcats on the scoreboard after that.
Sean Stewart tied it fifty seconds later. Axel Andersson and Tristan De Jong scored late in the period and Moncton led 3-1 after twenty minutes.
Jeremy McKenna netted a pair early in the second period, including a power play goal, to extend the lead to 5-1. Mika Cyr and Alexander Khovanov also tallied to make it 7-1 after two periods.
McKenna completed a hat trick six minutes into the third period with the game's final goal.
Wildcats' forward Gabriel Fortier, a former Baie-Comeau captain, was honoured before the game for his three-and-a-half years with the Drakkar. He was named first star in his former home.
Goalie Dakota Lund-Cornish earned the win with 26 saves.
