
A Battle for Pride
December 11, 2008 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2) - Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Kalamazoo, MI- Wings Stadium, which is also home to The Annex and The Cube, announce the Portage High School Hockey Classic between the Portage Northern Huskies and the Portage Central Mustangs will occur this Monday, December 15th.
The game, which is presented by the Portage Rotary, is not only a battle pitting two of the fiercest rivals in southwest Michigan, but a fundraiser for the rotary club. Proceeds from the Portage Hockey Classic will be designated for college scholarships.
Tickets for the contest are $5 for adults and $3 for children and seniors and are available at each school's athletic office and day of game at Wings Stadium. Southwest Michigan High School Hockey League Passes will be honored.
Face-off at Wings Stadium is set for 6:30 p.m., prior to the contest there will be KOHA scrimmage at 6 p.m. and Kalamazoo Wings Director of Hockey Operations and Head Coach Nick Bootland will drop the ceremonial puck drop before the clash.
