PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Icehawks will welcome former Detroit Red Wing and Stanley Cup winner Jiri Fischer as the guest speaker at the second annual Icehawks Chef's Dinner on Tuesday, January 20 at the Fogcutter Restaurant. The event includes a five course meal presented by chefs from the Bluewater Area and served by Icehawks players.
"We are pleased to partner with the Fogcutter Restaurant to present the second annual Chef's Dinner," Icehawks Vice President and Business Manager Dave Goetze said. "It is a great night for guests to try some amazing food, mingle with Icehawks players and hear inspirational words from a Stanley Cup winner."
Fischer played with the Red Wings for parts of five seasons from 1999-2005 and won a Stanley Cup with the team in the 2001-02 season. The defenseman was forced to retire in November 2005 after he suffered a cardiac arrest in a game versus the Nashville Predators.
Cost of the dinner is $50 and includes appetizers, soup, salad, entrée and dessert. Cash bar opens at 5:30 p.m. Dinner seating will start at 6 p.m. A silent and live auction will take place during the meal.
