The Edmonton Cracker-Cats solidified their starting rotation yesterday with the signing of veteran left-hander Mike Kusiewicz.
"With Reggie Rivard being out for one month we needed to find a quality arm," said Cracker-Cat field manager John Barlowe.
A six foot two inch 185 pound pitcher from Nepean, Ontario, he pitched the first half of the 2005 season with the 'Cats, amassing a 5-0 record with a 2.93 earned run average. Kusiewicz started 10 games and pitched 67.2 innings with 41 strikeouts and 16 walks.
Originally selected in the 1994 June Draft by the Colorado Rockies, Kusiewicz has 11 years of professional service including two stops at triple A with Pawtucket (Red Sox) in the International League, and Sacramento (Athletics) in the Pacific Coast League. Mike's lifetime record is 63 wins and 56 losses.
