EDMONTON - Glenn Bott pitched a six-hit shutout, and David Gates homered and drove in three runs to lead the Winnipeg Goldeyes to an 11-0 rout of the Edmonton Cracker-Cats at TELUS Field.
Bott did not walk a batter and struck out six in pitching the second complete-game shutout of his professional career.
The Goldeyes scored five runs in the first inning before Edmonton starter Mike Kusiewicz recorded an out. Fehlandt Lentini doubled and scored on Will Smith's RBI-single. Jimmy Hurst walked before Gates hit a three-run homer. The next batter, Greg Sain, also homered to give Winnipeg a 5-0 lead.

FARGO - Mike Peschel pitched seven strong innings and Joe Mathis had three hits, including a pair of doubles, to lead the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks to a 5-1 win over the Scahumburg Flyers at Newman Outdoor Field.
Mathis led off the bottom of the first inning with a double to right field, and scored the game's first run on Brent Krause's RBI-single.
In the fourth, Richard Austin's solo homer put Fargo-Moorhead ahead 2-0.
Peschel (5-3) yielded a solo homer to Sandy Almonte with one out in the Schaumburg eighth, but was otherwise unscathed. Peschel yielded a total of five hits and struck out nine over seven and one-third innings.

GARY - Brandon Rogers' RBI-single drove in Carlos Duncan with the game's only run in the 12th inning as the Calgary Vipers defeated the Gary SouthShore RailCats 1-0, on a sizzling hot day at U. S. Steel Yard.
The Vipers win spoiled the performance of RailCats starting pitcher Willie Glen, who came within three outs of pitching a no-hitter. Glen threw nine innings, yielding only a ninth inning bunt single by Manabu Kuramochi, a play on which the RailCats failed to cover first base.
The heat index reached 119 degrees at the Steel Yard as pitchers on both clubs kept hits to a minimum. The teams combined for just four hits over the first nine innings and only eight over the full 12 frames.
Gary had a chance to score in the second inning when Kevin White led off with a walk and went to third on Steve Booth's hit-and-run single to right. But Alex Taylor grounded back to the pitcher and Tanner Townsend lined out to end the inning.
Leading off the top of the ninth, Kuramochi bunted back to the pitcher, but with first baseman Jarrod Patterson drawn in on the bunt, second baseman Alex Taylor was late covering the bag, forcing Glen to hold his throw momentarily and allowing Kuramochi to reach base safely on the Vipers' first hit of the game. Glen retired the next three batters and left the game after nine innings with one hit allowed and nine strikeouts.
In the Gary 11th, Andy Rohleder led off with a single to center and Chris Curry sacrificed him to second. But Taylor grounded out and Mike Coles struck out as the RailCats stranded their 12th runner of the game without a run.
Duncan led off the Calgary 12th inning with a double off the fence in right against RailCats reliever Travis Kerber (1-4). Rogers followed with a base hit to right to bring in Duncan with the game's only run.
The RailCats were retired in order in the bottom of the 12th by Brad Rogers (4-0), who recorded the win with three scoreless innings.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
KANSAS CITY - Will Henderson hit a pair of home runs to lead the Joliet JackHammers to a 3-2 victory over the Kansas City T-Bones at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.
Henderson tied the score at 2-2 with a solo homer in the fourth, and broke the deadlock with his second homer of the game in the sixth inning. Henderson also scored Joliet's first run on a passed ball in the second inning.
The Joliet bullpen threw four and two-third scoreless innings of relief of starter Eric Fussell, yielding a total of two hits and combining to strike out five. Victor Kleine (1-2) earned the win, and Brand Morenko bridged the late innings to Amad Stephens, who recorded the final four outs for his 14th save.
