MEMPHIS, TN - For the second day in a row the Memphis Redbirds used an eighth-inning rally to down Round Rock, this time scoring a 4-2 victory Sunday afternoon at AutoZone Park.

Three doubles in the eighth inning led to two runs to break a 2-2 tie. Casey Rowlett led off the inning with a double and scored the go-ahead run on Matt Pagnozzi's double to left. Brian Barden's double scored Pagnozzi for a two-run Redbirds lead. Memphis closer Jess Todd nailed down the win with his league-leading 18th save.

Redbirds reliever Royce Ring picked up the win recording two outs in the eighth. Jose Capellan took the loss giving up two runs in 1.1 innings. Memphis starter Clayton Mortensen gave up two runs on six hits with eight strikeouts over seven innings of a no decision. Round Rock starter Polin Trinidad allowed two runs on seven hits over 6.2 innings in his Express debut.

The ‘Birds send P.J. Walters to the hill tomorrow night to face Express ace Bud Norris. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.
