Angels Recall Willits, Option O'Sullivan to Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY (July 5, 2009) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has recalled outfielder Reggie Willits from Triple-A Salt Lake and optioned right-handed pitcher Sean O'Sullivan to Salt Lake.

Willits, 27, has appeared in 47 games for the Bees in 2009, hitting .261 with seven doubles, one triple, one homerun, 18 RBI and eight stolen bases. In nine games for the Angels this season, he owns a .222 batting average with one stolen base. The Chickasha, Okla. native was originally selected by the Angels in the seventh round of the 2003 free agent draft.

O'Sullivan, 21, has appeared in four games (all starts) for the Angels in 2009, owning a 2-0 record with a 3.80 ERA with 15 strikeouts. He made his major league debut with the Angels on June 16, earning the win against San Francisco while allowing just one run in seven innings. In 10 games for the Bees this season, he owns a 5-2 record with a 6.02 ERA and 35 strikeouts. The El Cajon, Calif. native was originally selected by the Angels in the third round of the 2005 draft.
