Reno Aces News Release
Reno, Nev.- Reno's Kyle Greene had three hits-including a home run-in his first career Triple-A start, but it wasn't enough as the Sacramento River Cats slugged their way to a 13-8 victory over the Aces Sunday evening at Aces Ballpark.
The Aces fell behind early for the second-consecutive night and couldn't recover. They trailed 8-1 in the third, but managed to score in four consecutive innings to close the gap to within five. Chris Roberson had three RBI doubles-one each in the fourth, sixth and ninth innings-and Greene added a sacrifice fly and an RBI single to go with his fifth-inning solo home run.
Reno starter Tony Barnette (6-7) took the loss, as he was roughed up for eight earned runs in 3.1 innings. Leo Rosales was the lone bright spot out of the Aces bullpen, throwing two scoreless innings of relief to keep it close.
Chad Reineke (3-3) started and earned the win for Sacramento, despite allowing five earned runs in 5.2 innings of work.
Roberson (4-for-5, 4 RBI) and Greene (3-for-4, 3 RBI) led the Aces offense, and John Hester added three hits and scored three runs.
This series continues Monday as Reno sends RHP Seth Etherton (5-5, 4.70 ERA) to the mound to face-off against River Cats RHP Shawn Chacon (2-1, 3.32 ERA). Game time is 7:05 p.m.
