
Geoff Walker Returns to Ontario

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, four-time Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2014 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, announced that veteran right wing Geoff Walker has agreed to terms for the 2014-15 season.
"Geoff's a guy who's had great success in both this league and in the American Hockey League, and he's someone who's looking to get back to that level," Reign head coach and director of hockey operations Jason Christie said. "We're excited to have a player of his caliber join us."
Walker, 26, was previously a member of the Reign's inaugural team in 2008-09 after being claimed on waivers from the Phoenix Roadrunners on Oct. 14, 2008, and scored the game-winning goal in Ontario's first-ever regular season game, a 2-1 victory on Oct. 18, 2008 at Bakersfield. Walker finished his rookie season leading the squad in goals while tying for the team lead with 48 points (21g, 27a) in 68 games. He also suited up with Ontario during the 2009-10 seaso n, posting 23 points (7g, 16a) in 26 games.
Walker spent the majority of the 2013-14 season with the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL while signed to an NHL contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning, recording eight points (6g, 2a) in 43 games, while also scoring nine points (6g, 3a) in six games with the Florida Everblades. For his efforts with the Everblades, Walker was named the CCM ECHL Player of the Month for the month of April.
Since making his professional debut with the Fort Worth Brahmas of the Central Hockey League during the 2008 playoffs, the native of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island has skated in 369 career pro games split between the ECHL and AHL, recording 196 points (79g, 117a) and 443 penalty minutes.
Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-3, 225-pound winger played for the Gatineau Olympiques and P.E.I. Rocket of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2004 -08. In 228 career QMJHL games, Walker amassed 215 points (94g, 121a) and 252 penalty minutes.

The Ontario Reign will host their preseason home game against the Bakersfield Condors on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. Click here to purchase your preseason tickets.
The Reign's opening weekend will start on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. when Ontario will raise its fourth Pacific Division title banner before taking on the Idaho Steelheads. The Reign are then back in action at home less than 24 hours later when they square off against the Bakersfield Condors on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 3 p.m.
