Wenatchee AppleSox News Release

(Wenatchee, WA)- Former AppleSox player Eric Lane has been hired to complete the team's coaching staff for the 2013 season. Lane returns to Wenatchee after helping the AppleSox capture the West Coast League Championship in 2010. He is currently a graduate assistant coach at his alma mater Gonzaga University.

"He knows how we operate and is very similar to previous coaches who have filled this role," said AppleSox head coach Ed Knaggs. "He is a hard worker with a great attitude. It's a perfect fit to have him back with us as a coach."

He was a two-time NWAACC Western Division Most Valuable Player at Lower Columbia College and earned All-West Coast Conference Honorable Mention after his junior season at Gonzaga.

"I loved my experience in Wenatchee in 2010 and I feel fortunate to return in this role," said Lane. "The fans and community are outstanding and the AppleSox are a great organization to be a part of."

The AppleSox open the 2013 season at home on June 5th with a three-game series against the Corvallis Knights in a rematch of the 2012 West Coast League Championship Series.
