Perez Provides Lift as Sixers Fly By JetHawks

San Bernardino, CA- Eduardo Perez went 4-4 and was a triple short of the cycle to lead the streaking Inland Empire 66ers past the Lancaster JetHawks, 11-4, on Tuesday night. The win is the third in a row for the 66ers.

The 66ers got a jump-start in the first inning when Trayvon Robinson and Adolfo Gonzalez both singled to center, then came in to score when Perez singled and Tommy Giles grounded out to give the 66ers a 2-0 lead.

The Sixers added a run in the third when Eduardo Perez hit his second home run of the season. An inning later, Garett Green provided a two-run shot to left to an increase the lead to 4-0.

Inland Empire starter Steven Johnson silenced the Jethawks for the first four innings before Lancaster rallied for three runs after Marcos Cabral hit his first homerun of the season. Johnson (1-1) allowed two runs on five hits in five innings. He walked none and stuck out five.

The first four batters in the 66ers lineup (Robinson, Gonzalez, Perez, and Giles) combined to go 10-for-17 with eight runs scored and 7 RBIs.

Jeff Icenogle (0-1) surrendered 5 runs on 5 hits in 3 1/3 innings to take the loss.
