Tyler Melancon Grand & Toy Player Of The Week

(GUELPH) The Guelph Storm announced that forward Tyler Melancon is the Grand & Toy Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, January 6th. Melancon will also be the Guelph Storm nominee for OHL Player of the Week. The Storm forward picked up one goal and four assists for five points in three games this past week.

Melancon was an instrumental part of the Storm's come from behind 6-4 win in Erie on Wednesday. The Oshawa native was in on four of the six goals scored, including helping to set up the tying and eventual winning goals. Melancon was named the third star of the game for his efforts. On Friday night at home against the Peterborough Petes, the sophomore forward was held off the scoresheet, but maintained a plus one rating. Saturday in Plymouth the 18 year old scored the lone Storm goal in a 3-1 loss.

In 36 games so far this season, Melancon has recorded 18 points, six goals and 12 assists.

Next up, Melancon and the rest of the Storm are home for two games this upcoming weekend. On Friday the Storm play host to the Owen Sound Attack for a 7:30 pm start before facing off against the Kitchener Rangers on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm.
