Raptors 905 (5-12), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors dropped a Monday evening matchup against the Long Island Nets (9-6) 116-118. Javon Freeman-Liberty led the 905 with a game-high 23 points, six rebounds, two assists, a block, and a career-high 10 assists. Jalen Wilson contributed a 17-point, 16-rebound performance in the Nets' victory.
The 905 got off to a hot start in their final match in Long Island, opening the game on an 18-6 run. Long Island quickly responded going on a 11-4 run and eventually bringing the ball game to two points as the first quarter came to an end. The Nets continued to build off their momentum in the second quarter gaining their first lead early in the frame. The home team continued to pour in the points outscoring the visitors 31-21 and gaining an eight-point lead going into the break.
The 905 came out of the break strong, outscoring the Nets 28-25, cutting the deficit to five points entering the final frame. Raptors 905 continued to chip away at the Nets' lead in the fourth quarter, bringing the game within three points with 38 seconds remaining. The final seconds of the matchup consisted of timely threes, clutch free throws, and strong finishes at the rim, but the 905 were unable to come away with the win in Uniondale, as the Nets swept the season series.
Kira Lewis Jr. and Jaysean Paige provided complementary scoring for the 905, adding 20 points apiece to the box score. Kyler Edwards paced the Nets with 18 points, four rebounds, four assists, and a block.
The 905 continue their road trip in the Windy City taking on the Bulls Sunday, tip-off slated for 2:00 p.m. while the Nets host the Wisconsin Herd Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
