67's Trade Sointu To Sudbury

Ottawa 67's News Release
(Ottawa ON.): The Ottawa 67's today announced that import winger Matias Sointu has been traded to the Sudbury Wolves for goaltender Francis Dupuis.
Dupuis, a six-foot, 200-pound native of Orleans, had been playing in the Central Junior League this season. His OHL rights were acquired by the Wolves in a transaction with the Guelph Storm. Dupuis' acquisition is described by Head Coach Chris Byrne as a move to add depth to the 67's organization: "We have two solid goaltenders in Chris Perugini and Petr Mrazek, and now, with Francis in the organization, we know we have a solid third goalie for when we need him."
For Sointu, the trade represents an opportunity to gain more playing time. "Here in Ottawa, we have a solid group of young forwards and with Corey Cowick coming back in the New Year it looked like Matias wasn't going to get the minutes he needs to continue his development," said Byrne. "In Sudbury, I think he'll be a top-six forward and have the opportunity to develop at a faster pace. We thank him for his contribution to our team and wish him well with the Wolves."
