(Ottawa ON.): The Ottawa 67's today announced defenceman Daniel Broussard has been acquired from the Sarnia Sting for a 3rd round pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection Draft. 20-year old Brassard, a 6'1" right hand shot, is a stay-at-home defenceman known for his shot-blocking and rugged play.

"Daniel is solid player and very tough to play against," said 67's Head Coach and General Manager Chris Byrne. "He adds depth to our already strong defensive corps and we're looking forward to seeing him in our lineup."

Broussard, a native of San Antonio, Texas who now resides in Fayetteville, North Carolina in the off-season, was a fourth round draft pick of the Sting back in 2007. This season he has no goals and 2 assists along with 19 penalty minutes in 16 games. But since his role is to shut-down opponents, a more telling stat might be his plus-minus rating. Broussard is a +5.
