67's Forward Cooper Foster Selected 174th Overall by Pittsburgh Penguins

OTTAWA - Ottawa 67's forward Cooper Foster has been selected in the sixth round, 174th overall, by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

Foster, 18, became a full-time member of the 67's in 2022-23, after appearing in 14 games the year prior. The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native skated in 63 games, scoring 19 goals and 17 assists, for 36 points, finishing tenth in scoring among Ontario Hockey League rookies.

Drafted in the second round, 32nd overall, by Ottawa in the 2021 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection, Foster spent last season with the Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL). He quickly made a name for himself; earning league MVP honours as a rookie, as well as being named Best Overall Team Player, and a First Team All-Star, leading his team to a championship victory.
