December 12, 2009 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release
Our Ottawa 67's pulled out a huge win last night against the Brampton Battalion. With Anthony Nigro scoring a goal ten minutes into the first, our boys weren't looking back and went on to win the game 3-1. Our other two goals were scored by Jon Carnevale and Thomas Nesbitt, but the game wouldn't be complete without our goalie, Chris Perugini, who blocked 30 shots on net.
Last night's game was also very special for another reason, the Olympic torch was in the building! Thanks to RBC we were able to bring in the official 2010 Olympic torch, along with Olympian Josh Hastings. RBC did a great job getting everyone into the Olympic spirit!
Even the kids got into the action as a few future Olympians had their chance with the torch. Fans also took time out of their night to sign the Olympic banner which hung behind Section 18 of the concourse.
We would like the thank John Hastings and the entire team at RBC for making this possible. Don't forget to join us Friday, December 18th when we will be taking on the Peterborough Petes.
Jubilee Fine Jewellers 3 star selection
Third star: Brampton Battalion Sam Carrick, No. 16
Second star: Ottawa 67's Chris Perugini, No. 30
First star: Ottawa 67's Anthony Nigro, No. 21
Â
Last night's fan of the game was Emily Way. Emily loves coming to the games because her mom buys her favourite treat, chocolate ice cream! She also loves watching her favourite player, No. 16, Tyler Toffoli, score big goals. Lucky for Emily, he scores a lot of them. Thanks for coming out Emily!
Our season ticket holder of the game is Darwin Arnold. Darwin has been a season ticket holder for the last ten years! He loves the pureness of junior hockey and the fact that the players are playing for the love of the game.
Thanks for supporting our boys!
Our group of the game last night was the Orleans Novice A Torpedoes. They participated in our future stars game our 67's took the ice. Their game finished in a tie, but everyone came out a winner! Keep cheering boys, you did a great job last night!
Our player profile last night was No. 21, Anthony Nigro. Anthony had a great game last night where he had one goal and one assist.
