67's Draft Forward Vinzenz Rohrer at 2021 CHL Import Draft

OTTAWA - The Ottawa 67's welcomed another Austrian forward to the family on Wednesday at the 2021 CHL Import Draft.

Ottawa held the 27th pick in this year's draft, selecting Austrian right-winger Vinzenz Rohrer. The Barber Poles decided to pass on their 96th selection.

The last time Ottawa drafted a player out of Austria, it paid off as forward Marco Rossi starred for the club before being drafted ninth overall by the Minnesota Wild in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

1st round pick - 27th Overall: Vinzenz Rohrer (RW - GCK Lions Jr.)

With the 27th overall pick of the 2021 CHL Import Draft, the 67's selected Austrian winger Vinzenz Rohrer. The 16-year-old spent some times with two clubs during the 2020-2021 season. In 26 games with the ZSC U17, Rohrer, who captained the team, recorded an impressive 28 goals and accumulated 19 assists, good for a total of 47 points. Rohrer also played for the GCK Lions U20 during the 2020-2021 calendar, scoring two goals and five assists in 22 games.

"Vinzenz is a competitive, skilled player with a high hockey IQ. We will be in discussions with Vinzenz and the Rohrer family in the near future regarding the potential of continuing his hockey career with the 67s," said 67's General Manager James Boyd.
