San Bernardino, CA-The Inland Empire 66ers (59-50, 22-17) won for the 15th time this year against their I-10 rivals the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (50-59, 19-20), taking a 13-3 victory Tuesday night at San Manuel Stadium.

Starting pitcher Mark Sappington continued his incredible run with his seventh consecutive quality start.

Sappington attacked the zone and matched his season high with eight strikeouts while logging seven innings for his 11th win of the season. Offensively the 66ers wasted no time Tuesday. The 66ers scored four runs in the 1 st frame, highlighted by a Gary Mitchell two run single. In the 3rd Michael Snyder made it 6-0 66ers when he mashed his league leading 22nd home run of the year.

All that offense proved to be an appetizer to the main course which came in the 7th when the66ers scored seven runs. Both Zach Borenstein and Gary Mitchell recorded triples in the inning, and Inland Empire at one point had seven straight batters reach base safely in the frame.

Eric Stamets led the charge for the 66ers offensively with a perfect 3-3 night at the dish, highlighted by two singles, one triple, two walks and two runs scored. Anthony Bemboom recorded his second hit and first career RBI as a member of the 66ers, plating Stamets in the 7th inning.

Wednesday the 66ers will continue their I-10 freeway series with the Quakes at San Manuel Stadium.
