Inland Empire 66ers News Release

Stockton, CA - Tyler Carpenter turned in his third consecutive dominant start and helped the Inland Empire 66ers snap a four-game losing-streak with a 3-2 win versus Stockton on Thursday. Carpenter gave the Sixers (3-12) the longest outing of his career with seven frames of five-hit work. The righty did not walk a batter and struck out five to improve to 2-0 on the season.

The Sixers took a 1-0 lead in the second on Ayendy Perez' RBI single against Stockton (7-7) starter Casey Meisner. The Ports answered in the bottom of the inning when Tyler Marincov homered just over the short-porch in right field at Banner Island Ballpark to tie the game 1-1. It was the first run allowed by Carpenter all season and snapped a streak of 12 straight scoreless frames for the Alpharetta, GA product.

Inland Empire added two more runs in the fifth when David Fletcher and Caleb Adams each singled with two outs against Meisner (0-1). Jose Briceno followed by ripping a double to left scoring the pair and sending IE to a 3-1 lead. The Ports loaded the bases in the eighth against

Sixers' reliever Jose Molina and scored a run when Jordan Piche' came out of the pen and walked Joe Bennie to make it 3-2. Piche' got out of the eighth with the lead. He found trouble again in the ninth but struck out Jose Brizuela with two on to secure his first save of the year.

Adams had a pair of hits in the win; it was his sixth multi-hit game of the year. Fletcher had two hits as well for Inland Empire. The series continues Friday at 7:10 pm and can be heard live at 66ers.com and 1570 AM KPRO.
