66ers Host Rival on Thirsty Thursday

TULSA, Okla., January 31, 2006 - In what is already elevating into an intense NBA D-League rivalry, the Tulsa 66ers host the Arkansas RimRockers for the last time at Expo Square Pavilion this season on Thursday, February 2. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
The RimRockers' last visit to Tulsa provoked a series of newspaper articles describing Arkansas' experience in the Expo Square Pavilion.
"There's definitely a rivalry there," said Arkansas head coach Joe Harge, in an article printed in the RimRockers Report.
"We need to have the same court advantage they have. [Tulsa fans] throw everything verbally at you but the kitchen sink in Tulsa," Harge said. "Their fans get after you and do everything they can to create a true home-court advantage. We need to have the same type of atmosphere at Alltel Arena in Arkansas."
To create a true rivalry atmosphere, the first 1,066 fans on Thursday will receive a "66ers 6th Man" T-shirt, courtesy of the Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center.
"The fans have created such a success supporting the 66ers that it has stirred up a 6th Man fan group," said Tulsa 66ers president Joe Berry. "This is a rivalry where fans can be close to the action and watch an excellent game."
In addition to the "66ers 6th Man" T-shirt, beer will be reduced to $2 and college students will receive $2 off any ticket when a current college ID is shown at the box office.
