Inland Empire 66ers News Release

After an offensive explosion Monday, the 66ers found themselves at the wrong end of a lopsided affair Tuesday as Inland Empire (31-35) lost to San Jose (35-31) 14-2. Third baseman Brandon Brewer made his second appearance as a pitcher as he tossed two scoreless innings, striking out a game-high two batters in the blowout. Brewer has a 2.25 ERA with five strikeouts and a walk in his two appearances.

66ers designated hitter Taylor Lindsey was a bright spot for the offense as he finished the day going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. He now has 32 RBIs on the year. Jean Almanzar extended his season high hitting streak to seven games.

66ers reliever Alex Burkhard was another bright spot as he threw 3.1 innings, not allowing a hit to 11 batters and striking out one, to settle down a 66ers bullpen that struggled to get outs.

The 66ers conclude their homestand against the Giants tomorrow at 7:05 pm. It will be We Care Wednesday as the 66ers will highlight a charitable organization at the ballpark. The game can be heard on the home of 66ers baseball KCAA 1050 AM beginning with the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Pre-Game show at 6:55.
