
66ers Drop Series Finale at Lake Elsinore

Lake Elsinore, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino could not hold a 4-7 lead late on Sunday afternoon at the Diamond as the Lake Elsinore Storm scored one in the seventh inning and unloaded for sixth more runs in the eighth to take the finale of a six-game set 9-4. The 66ers still managed to win the series four-games-to-two.
The 66ers (6-5) scored in the second when Caleb Scires tripled and scored on Jose Bonilla's sac fly to right. Tied at 1-1 in the fourth the Sixers when Jeremiah Jackson doubled and Scires walked. Jose Bonilla then singled to load the bases. Jose Reyes brought in a run on a RBI ground out and another scored on a passed ball by Storm (7-5) catcher Alison Quintero. Spencer Brown then smacked a RBI double giving the 66ers a 4-1 lead. Inland Empire did not score again. Brown finished 3-for-4 on the day. Lake Elsinore took control for good in the eighth sending 11 batters to the plate aided by five walks, a wild pitch and a passed ball charged to the 66ers. Jarryd Dale had the big hit for Storm, a three-run triple to put the game on ice.
