The Inland Empire 66ers (49-57, 18-18) won their second consecutive game against the Lancaster JetHawks (55-50, 18-17) 7-1, moving the team back to .500 in the second half. 66ers second baseman Rolando Gomez was the offensive star of the night as he went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base. Gomez now has 30 RBIs on the year.

The 66ers offense was able to take advantage of three errors by the JetHawks defense and convert them into runs. Left fielder Randal Grichuk contributed an RBI double and scored the first run of the game on a wild pitch in the second inning. He finished the night going 2-for-5. Grichuk now has 51 RBIs on the year, good for second on the team. Right fielder Drew Heid and first baseman Jett Bandy also contributed RBIs of their own.

66ers starter and Cal League pitcher of the week Nick Maronde put in a strong pitching performance as he went 6 1/3 innings, giving up one earned run and striking out eight batters for the win. His only blemish came on a home run by JetHawks center fielder George Springer. Maronde improves to 3-1 on the season. 66ers relievers Eric Cendejas and Alex Burkhard limited the JetHawks offense to only one hit the rest of the way to seal the win. JetHawks starter Tyson Perez took the loss to fall to 7-3 on the year.

The 66ers will conclude their series with the Lancaster Jethawks tomorrow at 5:00 pm.
