(Eastlake, OH) - Following an official announcement by Minor League Baseball, the Lake County Captains, Class-A Affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, are sad to report that there will not be a Minor League Baseball season in 2020. The official announcement from Minor League Baseball is attached.
"This announcement is heartbreaking for us as an organization and we know it is disappointing to the great fans who come to our ballpark every year to enjoy Captains baseball," said Captains General Manager Jen Yorko. "While we wish we could see our wonderful fans this summer, we will be back stronger than ever in 2021. We cannot wait to see you at the ballpark when baseball returns."
Though no games will be played in 2020, the Captains will make every effort to provide fans with entertainment opportunities and special events, either virtually or at the ballpark.
