2020-21 Season Ticket Prices Remain Unchanged
March 5, 2020 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, MB. - The Brandon Wheat Kings are returning to the playoffs and the Western Hockey League club is excited to announce that in addition to 2020 playoff packages, 2020-21 Season Tickets are now on sale.
The Wheat Kings, who currently occupy second place in the WHL's Eastern Division, have unveiled a special offer to those that renew their season tickets and purchase their playoff packages by Monday, March 16th.
To those Wheat King fans that do, they will not only get next year's tickets at this year's price, the Western League club will give them this year's first two playoff home games for free. As well, season tickets holders will receive a $4 discount off the regular admission price at Westoba Place for the balance of the 2020 playoffs.
For those western Manitoba fans that do not wish to renew their season tickets by the March deadline, they will still be eligible for the $4 per game discount, if they purchase their playoff ticket package.
In a letter mailed out to season ticket holders this week, Wheat Kings' Owner / Governor Kelly McCrimmon says that it's important to recognize our loyal fans and want to make it easy for them to be a part of this special time of year - the playoffs.
Early Bird Season Ticket prices for the 2020-21 season will be $475 for adults, $425 for seniors, $300 for youth (ages 13-17) and $200 for children (12 and under).
While season ticket prices will remain unchanged, the Keystone Centre has announced that beginning next season all season tickets will be subject to a new facility fee to be paid to the complex.
"As our facilities continue to age these revenues are critical in supporting various capital projects, enhancements and emergency projects," says Keystone Centre General Manager and CEO Jeff Schumacher.
"Over the past three years alone, more than $2 million have been invested in facility improvements and infrastructure in the south end of the Keystone Centre," Schumacher went on to say.
Examples of these improvements include such things as the new hi-definition center ice scoreboard and video display, new Zamboni, wall mounted scoreboard, significant food and beverage improvements, Wifi enhancements and various roof and parking lot repairs.
Should the Wheat Kings hope to clinch home ice advantage in the opening round of the playoffs, they will play games one and two at Westoba Place. However, if the Wheat Kings are forced to open up the playoffs on the road, Westoba Place will again be unavailable due to the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair. Should that be the case, the club will play its first round home games at Tundra Oil and Gas Place in Virden.
The Wheat Kings, who begin a home and home weekend series with the defending champion Raiders in Prince Albert on Friday night, are currently 34-21-4-2 on the season. They begin the weekend trailing first place Prince Albert by five points and lead the third place Winnipeg ICE by five.
Game two of the weekend series will be played Saturday night at Westoba Place. Puck drop at 7:30pm.
